Happy International Women's Day 2026 | Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls

Happy International Women's Day and Happy Women's Month to you all
I celebrate you. I honor you. I am rooting for you.
I see you sister.
This is a day to celebrate women all around the world and also bring awareness to the plight of women here and abroad. This year I was so drawn to the theme of the UN's International Women's Day for 2026; which was also tied to the International day of Women Judges which falls on March 10th.
The UN's theme for IWD 2026 is Rights. Justice. Action. For all Women and Girls.
The International day of Women Judges theme is Women in Justice, women for Justice
Did you know, According to the UN:
Women have only 64% of the legal rights that men hold worldwide? This is so alarming especially when we see everyday many of those rights are not recognized in parts of the world and in other parts, those rights are closer to being dismantled with each day. The UN notes that if this progress continues, it will take 286 years to close legal protection gaps. They also note in the new UN gender Report, warnings that the very same systems meant to protect women and girls are failing them, leaving them exposed to abuse, injustice. You can read more about it here on the UN's site. And if you look around or read news stories in your local area or abroad, you will find evidence of these things. And I am sure as a woman those alarming bells have most definitely rang in your spirit regarding the state of affairs in this day and age.
It is important that as women we are aware of what is happening around us, how laws are being passed or shaped right under our nose that could lead to us going back in time and even loosing the freedoms that have been archived over the years by women who dared to go against the grain and fight for equality as human beings, as women. Remember, there was a time women in the USA could not get their own credit cards or even buy homes alone. Full financial independence, including the ability to obtain mortgages and credit without a male co-signer, was not secured until 1974. Can you believe that? 1974. That's not so long ago. And these freedoms are currently being challenged.
It is very important that in this day and age, four our daughters sakes and their daughters and generations to come, that we do not let these things be taken away. It is important to make sure that laws are not being implemented that will cause us or them harm in any way. For example in countries like Kenya, abuse against women has reached an all time high. Some say crisis levels. Many women loosing their lives, young girls being sexually abused and more. And this is not just happening abroad. It is happening right in your community too. In the USA the abuse of women is high and considered a persistent crisis. And according to my research, data indicates nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by partners, with women aged 18–34 being the highest. And this is just 2 countries out of the 195 countries in the world.
This is alarming. This is very concerning.
This is why I am drawn to the UN's theme for International Women's Day this year and wanted to share this with you. And this adds on to why the International Day of Women Judges (Women in Justice, women for Justice) is so important as well. Because women are needed in the spaces that pass law, create policies or try crimes against women. Unfortunately alot of the laws and policies being passed are done by those who don't share our struggles or those who don't care to take them away. Its been in my heart that a Matriarchy will rise in the next era to lead and I believe now more than ever this is necessary and Needed. In a world that is so harmful to women, a nurturing type of leadership is needed.
So my clarion call to you is to show up in your calling, where you know you can lead and stand up for your fellow women. If you have been thinking about that Law degree, Criminal Justice Degree, Entering rooms where policies are created and laws are enacted, Diplomacy, Empowerment, Teaching, Coaching, Entrepreneurship, Wellness & Healing etc, TAKE THE LEAP!!!. As Modern trailblazer, a woman, your time to embody the woman you are becoming or called to be is now. And we will all cheer each other on as we all walk into our destined spaces.
As it is the mission of this brand to serve you as you pursue your purpose, I will be there with you every step of the way making sure you show up as your best self. Whether its by dressing you for your most purposeful moments or just cheering you on and empowering you to shift the atmospheres you are called to.
I AM ROOTING FOR YOU!!
So this year, remember every other woman, for we are a tribe living in this planet called earth, just in different locations. But our struggles are all the same and what happens in our lands most definitely affects what happens to the global community at large. Be proactive in visiting the UN and seeing what is being discussed, speak to the women around you and find out what they are dealing with in their lives, go further and research the plights of the women beyond your boarders and then see how you can be involved, even if its just to spread awareness.
Let us be the change we want to see in the world. And right now is the time to ARISE.
I will end with these quotes that can carry you through these seasons as we navigate the trials of this era:
"Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn't be that women are the exception." — Ruth Bader Ginsburg
"We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back." — Malala Yousafzai
"African women in general need to know that it's okay for them to be the way they are; to see the way they are as a strength, and to be liberated from fear and silence." — Wangari Muta Maathai (this quote definitely applies to us all)
"If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair." — Shirley Chisholm
"We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women's voices are heard and heeded." — Sheryl Sandberg
"What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." — Jane Goodall
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” — Alice WalkerIf you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.” — Archbishop Desmond Tutu
"As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality persist in our world, none of us can truly rest.” — Nelson Mandela
"Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on.” — Thurgood Marshall
